Am afraid he might also hurt me, what do I do?

In 2010, a young man sent me a friend request on Facebook. I accepted it. We started chatting daily and we discovered that we prayed from the same church and had gone to the same secondary school. We shared a number of friends too.

In  2010, a young man sent me a friend request on Facebook. I accepted it. We started chatting daily and we discovered that we prayed from the same church and had gone to the same secondary school. We shared a number of friends too.

In a month’s time, we met and the experience was great. When we did an evaluation, we both agreed that we had met each other’s expectations. We decided to get more serious about it. However, after a few months, I noticed a worrying behavior about him; he suddenly started distancing himself.

There was this girl who was ever commenting on his pictures but I decided to ignore it. After all, she could be his friend or cousin.

Besides, I didn’t want to look so desperate. I let it go.  I felt I had had enough of him and so decided to break off with him.

We all moved on. Months later, I was shocked to discover that the same girl was his girlfriend. For that reason, I shun chatting with any one on the social media.

However, before I met this guy, there is another one I used to chat with on Skype for about two years. He is insisting on meeting me. Should I give it another try? In case I do, what can I do to prevent myself from getting hurt again?
