The Chinese national who was arrested last week in Katwe with underage girls in his house has been charged with five offences including aggravated defilement and human trafficking.

Yang Zhengyun who first identified himself as Li weng, was charged together with his accomplice, Faith Orlando, by Buganda Road magistrate Sylvia Nabaggala.

The magistrate first asked  Zhengyun whether he understood English and he said he did not. He later changed his mind on the advice of his lawyer and accepted to be read the charges.

The defendant was not accepted to take plea as his case is off a grave nature, only heard by the High Court.

Nabaggala ordered the defendant to be brought back to Court on December 19 for the hearing.

Zhengyun was arrested last week after a victim tipped off Police that he had allegedly defiled her at Lungujja-Kitunzi, Rubaga division in Kampala.

His accomplice is accused of being behind the victims’ travels from Lira and Gulu districts to Kampala.
