Uganda Wildlife Authority

The chairman Board of Trustees, Executive Director, Management and Staff of Uganda Wildlife Authority congratulate the President of the Republic of Uganda, the Speaker of Parliament, the Chief Justice, the cabinet and all the people of Uganda as we join other Tourism Stakeholders in Uganda and the world over to celebrate World Tourism Day 2012. 

UWA remains steadfast in empowering the communitiesaround the protected areas through revenue sharing arrangements the proceeds of which are dedicated to projects aimed at reducing Human-Wildlife conflict as well as improving the community livelihood so as to reduce the pressure on the protected areas through poaching and encroachment.

UWA has participated in the activities and events that were organized to mark this year’s World Tourism Day, under the theme ‘Tourism and Sustainable Energy Powering Sustainable Development’ 

The activities included 

Boat regatta, Cycle racing, Horse Racing, Product and services exhibition, Entebbe Tourism forum, Tourism Sector Review Meeting, the launch of the East African Private Sector Tourism Platform-Uganda Chapter among others
