Two vibrant youngsters from Urban TV will carry out interviews on the sidelines of the 4th edition of the Pakasa Forum on Saturday which will be moderated by Vision Group CEO, Robert Kabushenga.

Brenda Kembabazi, 25, and Joshua Poro, 29, are already brushing up on their craft to take the assignment by the horns, in what is currently the most talked about event of the weekend across East Africa.

The forum, which will host Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta as the keynote speaker under the theme Creating Opportunities for Youth in East Africa, will require informed, witty and fast-thinking reporters to engage the audience on the sidelines and capture pertinent views.

Kambabazi, Poro, and needless to say Robert Kabushenga, are exactly that. Kembabazi is the presenter of the Urban TV show Innovate, which covers people’s innovations geared towards enhancing development.

Asked what she has up her sleeve for the forum, Kembabazi, holder of a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, said:

true “Just watch this space.  The Pakasa Forum is a brand I have closely followed since I am inspired by entrepreneurship and the eventual success that a lot of times come with it. To cover this event is such a remarkable opportunity for me to work closely with young people and the East African leaders that are championing youth programmes. I can’t wait!”

Kembabazi, an active person on social media, can be accessed via the Twitter handle @kembenda, or through her Facebook page Bre Bre Kbb.

On his part, Poro, a news anchor and reporter with Urban TV, said, “Covering Pakasa Forum is leaping several steps to one of the biggest milestones in my career. I look forward to engaging the youth on the Goliath that is unemployment. The forum is such a priceless opportunity, for it offers me regional platform since it will be broadcast live across East Africa.”

truePoro, also a communications director at Living Values Education Uganda, holds a degree in arts and sciences, another in information technology, and a post-graduate diploma in software engineering. So for any discourses related to information technology and development, you can count on him.

His Twitter handle is @JoshuaPoro, or can be accessed on Facebook under the name Joshua Poro.

Kabushenga is the CEO of Vision Group, which publishes the newspaper New Vision, Uganda’s leading daily. A holder of a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala, Kabushenga has been CEO for seven years now. He is an advocate of the High Court of Uganda, and a member of the Uganda and East Africa Law Societies.

trueKabushenga’s previous work experience includes Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, Company Secretary and Legal Officer of Vision Group, as well as Legal and Administration Officer of the Monitor Publications Ltd.

His role, among others, will be to put in perspective the questions asked by the audience, control the programme as well as keep the forum focused on the main agenda.

A corporate social responsibility initiative of Vision Group, the Pakasa Forum seeks to bridge the information gap on where resources, opportunities and support for the youth in Uganda can be accessed.
Now running for the fourth time, is inspired by Pakasa, a pullout that covers entrepreneurship issues in the New Vision every Friday.

The pullout tells stories of successful entrepreneurs and the hurdles they overcame to get there, and gives expert advice on aspects of starting up and operating business in Uganda.

At the Fourth edition this Saturday, young people across East Africa expect President Kenyatta and Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni, the host, to motion them in the right direction as far as opportunities to better their lives and the nation are concerned.
