AS other musical artists are chasing legacies and organizing expensive shows in swanky hotels to prove to those who care enough as to avail listening time that they have cemented their names on gigantic legacy grounds,  Bobi Wine has assembled a team of musicians for yet, unsurprisingly, another noble cause.

Speaking at a press conference at Hotel Africana on Thursday, the self-styled ‘ghetto president’ said that many hospitals in the country are in poor states, yet most of the fundraising and charity functions are for NGO’s which already have sources of funding.

“Most of the hospitals in the various parts of the country are in poor state. Yet though campaigns have been made to help change the condition, a little has been recorded to effect positively on their welfare. Which is a chance for us as the voice of the nation to come up and do something to help the hospitals build better facilities and better the welfare of the workers in there.

This show is going to feature all the Ugandan artists, a reason it has been dubbed, every one charity concert. This, therefore, will mean that the people who will show up will get entertainment from all Uganda’s musicians in all the musical genres the industry possesses and at the end, by enjoying, help build better facilities for hospitals” said Bobi Wine.

Though slated for Friday at Hotel African people’s space, the every one charity concert hasn’t established exactly, which hospitals the proceeds will go.

“Initially, we had just planned to create awareness but seeing that the situation affects the whole nation, we decided to make it a concert as we establish the various hospitals were to take the proceeds” said an emotional Bobi Wine.

Bebe Cool not part of the concert

It is baffling however why Bebe Cool is not a part of the charity campaign as he is also considered a heavyweight Ugandan musical artist.

When asked, however, the press conference table comprising of the Good Life members, Radio and Weasel, Bobi Wine, events security guru, Dixon Okello and several other musical artistes, shunned the question by talking about the fact that every musical artist in Uganda was going to perform.

It is the events security guru, Dixon Okello who broke the silence to talk about the security.

“We are going to be strict on the entrance both on artists and revellers to avoid any misconduct. We therefore urge those who will participate to be cooperative” said Okello.
