KCCA Football Club are FUFA Super League champions and have just won the SUPA Cup after defeating Uganda Cup holders URA FC.

SC Villa are reorganizing and if plans by the new management are anything to go by, the Jogoos will once again be the team to beat in the next decade or so.

And if one is talking about clubs with a stake in the history of Ugandan football, one big name is still missing — Express FC.

But the Red Eagles resigned either. The side has also gone into a recruitment drive.

In a bid to rekindle the competitive VEK (Villa-KCC-Express) spirit in local soccer, the Wankulukuku side has also gone into a recruitment drive, but with experience in mind this time.

Having earlier acquired the services of former Cranes midfielder Simon Sserunkuuma, they have added his namesake, former Cranes striker Geoffrey Sserunkuuma and also welcomed back midfielder Noah Ssemakula, who in the last two seasons, played for Villa and SC Victoria University respectively.

“We are not leaving anything to chance. We have strengthened the team and I assure you the side is good,” said acting chairman Francis Ntalazi.

He disclosed that they were in advanced talks with midfielder Yayo Lutimba who is also ready for a second spell with the six-time league champions.

At the same time, Express Corporate Members Club is organizing a fundraising dinner at Jevine Hotel in Ndeeba on August 15 with each card going for sh100,000.

Plans for the event are already in top gear.
