REMEMBER when we expressed our great joy and support for our compatriot Rachel K making it to the second round of American Idol? You go girl!

REMEMBER when we expressed our great joy and support for our compatriot Rachel K making it to the second round of American Idol? You go girl!

That is what happens when you believe in yourself, that is what happens when you never give up your dream.

Well, we did some investigating to find out exactly what this second round is. Well, here it is. Up to eight thousand people arrive for auditions for American Idol in a typical audition venue.

And there are many such venues all in different towns.

All of these people are there for the rst round. This is when they stand in front of whoever the company could pay to be at a panel: like there is one panel where a caterer, an assistant producer, a stay-at-home mom and a school choir master sit.

At each panel the auditioners go and sing eight bars. They are not just looking for good singing here, they are looking for the potential of, not just good singing, but good TV and if they think you MIGHT be good at either of the two (you can be good tv by being a really bad singer, by the way) they then send you off to the second round, which can take place even weeks after the first.

That is when you meet a team of TV producers and these audition you again. Then the third round is where you finally sing in front of the judges we know, and they film you.

So in other words, Kiwanuka made it out of the first eight thousand to join the few hundred chosen to see the producers in her town and will be seeing if they think she is interesting enough to go in front of whoever is judging
now.

We hear Nick Jonas and Jeniffer Lopez. We hear Randy Jackson may also have been fired. You go, Girl!
