Douglas Uwereza nailed a game-high 15 points and Phillip Amweny added ten points as the Falcons spanked the Victoria University Heaters 83-43 in the Airtel National Basketball Men’s division one Saturday at the YMCA.
Victoria were supposed to test Tony Oluka’s team after coming into the match with a good run of form that included a high-profile victory over the KIU Titans in the last game.
But the Falcons treated Victoria the same way they have treated most of their opponents this season, mercilessly.
The Heaters, who had no one in double figures, simply never took off. They lost the first quarter 21-7 and never recovered.
Moses Okwera sunk nine points for Victoria, who were on a two-game winning streak. Derrick Mbusi and George Karire added eight.
Meanwhile, Andrew Opio bagged a game-high 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Miracle Eagles recorded their seventh straight win after outlasting the Ndejje Angels 50-41 at the YMCA.
Geoffrey Soro made 13 points and 14 rebounds for Ndejje.
