Adhola queen burial for Saturday

The Adhola Queen, wife to His Highness Kwar Adhola Moses Stephen Owor, will be laid to rest on Saturday June 23, Kingdom officials have said.

The Adhola Queen, wife to His Highness Kwar Adhola Moses Stephen Owor, will be laid to rest on Saturday June 23, Kingdom officials have said.
Cecilia Owor aged 77 died peacefully in her sleep on Monday after a short illness. She died from their Royal Palace residence, along Yona Okoth road in Tororo.
According to preliminary funeral arrangements, a funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tororo on Friday, before the body is taken to the Kwar Adhola Owor’s palace in Amagoro, in Tororo.
“Another funeral service will be held in Amagoro Palace on Saturday before the burial,” said Mary Apio Mwanja, one of the deceased’s daughters.
Mrs. Owor's body remains at Rubongi Army barracks regional hospital mortuary pending arrangements for burial.
The death of the Queen came as shock to many Jopadholas within and across in the diaspora who regarded her as beacon of hope and unity in Tieng Adhola (The Adhola Kingdom).
Jannet Oroma, commented online: " We shall forever miss you mother,you have now created abig gap in the Adhola family especially to the mothers and the young girls,your kind love and sacrifices will forever be treasured,may your soul rest in internal peace,Amen!"
She will be remembered in her role of yearning for girl children's education that had compelled her to form a bursary scheme charity (Cecilia Education Foundation) .
The deceased born to Alinusi and Maxiesia Oringo was born in 1935 and got married in 1951. She was popularly called Mini Wengi (mother of many), and is survived by 10 children, four boys and six girls and 33 grandchildren.
Her eldest children are Charles Owor of the Judicial Service Commission and banker Jane Kabale.
Others are Prof. Stephen Owor and Dr Maxi Owor in the US, Wilbrod Owor, a former Makerere Guild President and currently at United Africa Bank, Mary Apio Mwanja at Bank of Uganda, Grace Ochwo, Margaret Alwala, Olive Sekitto and Joseph Odongo.
