Kampala City Coucil Authority law enforcement officers Thursday morning demolished kiosks in both Old and New taxi parks in Kampala.

The operation which kicked off at midnight saw a number of kiosks pulled down.

KCCA earlier ordered vendors to vacate because they were operating in the taxi parks illegal but the vendors turned a deaf ear.

Peter Kaujju, KCCA spokesperson said the demolition of the kiosks is to pave way for the repairs to be carried out in the parks. He advised the vendors to relocate to various city markets.

Some of the affected vendors were seen early Thursday morning rushing to save some of their merchandize.

The victims of the demolition are those who sell food, beverages, electric appliances, home utensils   among others items.

Police have heavily deployed in both parks to maintain law order.
