The police in Mubende district have said they will summon Brigadier Kasirye Ggwanga over allegations that he assaulted three people last week.

Kasirye Gwanga allegedly beat up three people, whom he accused of 'trespassing' on his land located at Boma hill, in Mubende town council.

The trio reported to the police in Mubende that Brigadier Kasirye and his driver severely beat them on Tuesday evening at Boma hill. The complainants are Vincent Bagonza, Ezra Sigiranda and Ano Gafa, all residents at Boma.

The alleged victims are some of the residents who are claiming ownership of land at Boma hill, where Kasirye Ggwanga also claims to be having three plots.

Mubende district police commander EnockAbaine said he had tried to summon the Brigadier on Monday but his telephone number was off.

He said if he had got him on phone, they would trace him and have his statements recorded.

Abaine said that Kasirye is likely to face two charges of assault and inciting violence.

"We are still recording statements from the witnesses, as we also tracing the Brigadier. After our investigations, we shall extend the file to the resident state attorney," he said.
