COACH Mike Mutebi can finally breathe a sigh of relief after SC Villa’s 3-0 win over UTODA FC on Tuesday -his first win in the Uganda Super League since taking charge at Villa Park in December.

Apollo Kakaire (61minutes), returnee Noah Semakula (69) and Misi Katende (80minutes) notched the goals as a new look Villa trounced helpless Utoda at Wankulukuku.

The victory has relaxed anxiety among the players and officials alike. Anything short of victory would have heightened unease among the Jogoos faithful who had uniquely endured their worst spell in two decades.

In Jinja, Champions URA FC failed hold on their lead courtesy of penalty by Peter Ssenyonjo and fell 2-1 Victors at Kakindu Stadium.

Leaders Express FC (27points), who face KCC on Friday, must be plotting on a win that should consolidate their leadership with four points go into the break at the apex of the Uganda Super League.

Khasim Nsubuga and Karim Ndugwa’s goals in the 65th and 88minutes respectively not only denied URA victory but also the opportunity to get back to the top of Uganda Super League table.

URA coach Alex Isabirye, who had hoped the partnership of Augustine Nsumba and Robert Ssentongo should put a smile on his face instead collected misery from Kakindu.

URA went into the game with Ssentongo who hitherto had seven of URA’s 17 goals to his name, Nsumba and dependable midfielders in Farouk Usama, Manko Kaweesa, Vincent Kayizzi and Sula Bagala all in top form.
