According to a State House statement, Museveni was speaking at a party he hosted for the staff and management of Rushere Community Hospital at his country home in Rwakitura.

Flanked by his wife Janet Museveni, the president called for patience among the medical practitioners in the country and noted that the government was well aware of their plight and had put it high on its agenda.

He also urged the public to give the medical practitioners the support and collaboration they deserve so as to enable them serve them [the public] efficiently and diligently.

He commended the staff and management of Rushere community hospital for the good service that they have rendered to the community by extending quality medical facilities to the community that was always lacking in the area.

The ceremony saw a number of local artists perform cultural songs and dances. The President commended them for the good performances and for preserving the traditional music, dance, and drama which he said were not only entertaining, but also educative and helpful in preserving the traditional culture.

The area MP, Rtd Col. Fred Mwesigye attended the ceremony.
