EDITORâ€â€On behalf of the people of Mbale municipality and the people of Bugisu sub-region in general, I would like to congratulate Dr Olara Otunnu upon his victory to the UPC presidency.
Dr Otunnu, your victory to become president of this mighty party is not for you as an individual but is the victory of the entire UPC fraternity who spoke through their delegates at the Namboole March 13 delegates conference. Ugandans who had lost hope now see a bright future for our beloved country. I would also like to take this opportunity to urge you to leave no stone unturned in luring back our members who, because of one reason or another, had left UPC.
We need to work with those members whom you competed with for the party leadership and their ardent supporters. Forget what happened during the campaigns and work as a team. We need each other’s contribution, however small it may be.
I pray that God continues to guide you and to give you strength and courage to liberate the people of Uganda so that we can salvage our country.
