It is very hard for the night of March 16, 2010 to get off the hearts of Ugandans and Baganda in particular for the tragedy that happened to the Kasubi Tombs! And this has terribly hurt the tourism sector. It is very upsetting and confusing.

In the first place, Kasubi Tombs is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites and has been attracting many tourists to Uganda thus enhancing tourism business.

The Kasubi tragedy affects all Ugandans, East Africans, Africans and the entire world socially, economically, psychologically and politically. A loss of historical material that have been kept for over 130 years might not have been accidental and that is why investigations are going on.

The Kasubi tragedy came on the heels of the Bududa one where many people perished. Many tour companies had to cancel safari bookings and this has financial implications to the tourists and to the country.
