Kusuro finishes fourth in road race

WORLD Mountain running gold medallist Geoffrey Kusuro failed to dislodge his Kenyan and Ethiopian rivals to finish fourth at the 26th Giro Media Blenio road race held in Switzerland on Monday.

WORLD Mountain running gold medallist Geoffrey Kusuro failed to dislodge his Kenyan and Ethiopian rivals to finish fourth at the 26th Giro Media Blenio road race held in Switzerland on Monday.
Kusuro’s compatriot Martin Toroitich finished fifth. The Ugandans fell behind when the pace got faster towards the final lap of the race.
The star studded 10km race saw experienced Ethiopian Imane Merga Jida emerge winner.
Jidam also added another title to his collection after winning the 5000m at the World Athletics Championships final in Greece last year.
The former Giro Media Blenio champion Moses Mosop of Kenya finished second while his countryman Richard Matelong was third overall.
