THE Police have set a fresh date to question the UPC president, Olara Otunnu, over statements that President Yoweri Museveni was responsible for long rebel war in the north.

Otunnu is to appear at the Criminal Investigation Directorate in Kibuli on Friday, according to a statement issued by the Police spokesperson, Judith Nabakooba.

The date followed Otunnu’s failure to appear before detectives last Friday.
He instead sent his lawyer, Erias Lukwago, who watered down the summons, arguing that they were “erroneous”.

However, Nabakooba said the Police can summon any person to assist in an investigation.

Addressing residents of Lira recently, Otunnu reportedly accused Museveni of confining people in camps and sending funds to the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels.
