I think Ugandans are realising the goodness of democracy. The FDC recently participated in a free and fair election. It was the best I have ever seen in Uganda. Dr Kizza Besigye was not allowed to talk as a party president because if he did he would have talked more than Mugisha Muntu his rival! Some ministers appointed by Besigye were not allowed to vote because they would favour him. At the end of the elections the loser had no reason to complain!

Do the taxes we pay belong to us or to an individual? Recently, Norbert Mao thanked the President for the government programmes in Gulu. President Museveni’s response was: “That is my money.†If national resources belong to an individual and not the public, I think that is why some people cannot appear before the public accounts committee!
