Both Kubingi and Bukenya, now in their late 30s, became FIFA officials in 2004 but Bukenya lost his badge last year following a six months FUFA ban. Kubingi failed a referees’ fitness test twice in two weeks at Namboole recently.

FUFA chief executive officer Edgar Watson, while handing over kit from CAF to FIFA referees for the 2010 season, said the federation had accepted the pair’s resignation.

He also advised the 17 men and women on the FIFA rota to work hard and keep Uganda’s good image at the international scene.
