THE Inter-church Organisation for Development Corporation (ICCO) is in poverty eradication drive through promotion of food security and access to basic quality education to communities.

The Netherlands-based organisation has been in Uganda for the last 25 years running food security programmes focusing on Teso, Lango and Karamoja regions, with specific interests on the post-conflict regions of northern Uganda.

Rev. Canon Grace Kaiso, the ICCO central and east Africa chairman, said at the launch of the council in Kampala last week that supporting the intensification and diversification of agricultural production for domestic consumption and the market would reduce poverty.

“We are improving marketing skills and organising farmers to access markets for their produce but savings are essential,” he said.

. We also focus on the recovering of food security along with peace building and reconciliation,” said Rev. Kaiso.
