PASTOR Batiringaya Okumu, the leader of several born-again churches in Acholi and Masindi, has said he will use his churches to mobilise support for the NRM party.

During a meeting organised by the Acholi Solidarity Mobilisation Group at Olwal in Lamogi sub-county recently, Okumu led over 2,000 people from his congregation and declared support to the NRM party.

During the same function, FDC sub-county chairpersons of Atyak, Pabbo, Lamogi and Amuru, with over 315 party delegates, crossed over to the NRM.

“In FDC, we had nine tactics for soliciting for votes without spending money. One was penetrating churches in Kilak county,” the FDC deserters testified.

David Obong, the chairman of the mobilisation group, said they would work with the defectors to destroy the FDC network in Kilak.
