WITH the Ugandan film industry continues to seek its big break, it was a brilliant idea to premiere a new movie in a secondary school. The students at Kings College Budo were excited at the prospect of having the Yogera premiere at their school. After all, it featured Bobi Wine, BuchaMan and Cleopatra Kohirwe.

Needless to say it is an urban social-realism drama about love, family and friendship centering on the need for those aspects in a big urban city. The students filled the old main hall, paying an entrance fee of sh2,000.

However, the stars of the movie failed to show up so RabaDaba, Peter Miles, Benon and Vampino who were supposed to light up the occasion with brief performances, ended up performing the whole day.

At the end of the day, the movie was a remarkable work of art but it was the artistes’ performances that the students might remember most about the event.
