Beware of strikes
Sometimes in second term, students turn rowdy, smashing windows, burning dormitories, beat students from lower classes, cooks, the head teacher and sometimes the district education officials, in the name of strikes.

A teacher may escape a road accident or Ebola outbreak but fall prey to a modern epidemic called the strike. Why do students strike? How much is it their own fault and how much is it due to other factors?

Teachers and the school administration are normally blamed for strikes. Others believe that strikes are caused by adolescents with poor discipline. Others think they are caused by students from poor families, who may be weak in character and who have no exposure to real life experiences.

I believe the community sometimes encourages indiscipline among students by selling to them local brew and cigarettes. Children have also been given too much freedom which has led to indiscipline. Teachers are lax, rendering students redundant, with a lot of time for mischief. Lastly, students may do this because they want to feel that they are in control of themselves
