BRIAN Mwesigwa, Phillip Kasozi, UPDF’s Flavia Namakula and Lillian Anguparu, where the toast of the Uganda Golf Club monthly mugs of July and August.
National golfer Mwesigwa shot 72 gross to claim his third mug in the year having taken the one for January, May and July.
He used the event as preparations for the prestigious Uganda Open that swings into action tomorrow.
Kasozi, won the August mug with 70 gross. The mugs are held monthly with the mug of July postponed due to the soccer World Cup that was held in South Africa.
UPDF’s Namakula was the ladies winner in group A for the month of July. The 2008 golfer of the year has been in outstanding form and used the tournaments as preparations for the World Military Games slated for Pakistan in November.
“I told her to step up the game which she did and that is why her form is back to its best,†Bob Drani, the UPDF golf team manager, said.
Lillian Anguparu, was group A ladies’ winner for the mug of August. Over 100 golfers participated in the two days of action at the par 72 Kitante golf course.
