This is great news for the Cranes supporters who have suffered so much heartbreaking near-misses by goal differences or single points in earlier campaigns.

Angola represented Africa at the World Cup in 2006, is better financed and put up a spirited campaign during the last tournament. But we have a good clean record against them and still grade higher in FIFA rankings.

We must support our team, keep them motivated, and avoid the mistakes of the past if we are to achieve our target of winning all our home games and drawing a few more away.

Let us flock to Namboole and cheer our team. We should also register as fans with FUFA and keep sending feedback to their website on how we can improve.

Government should also play a bigger role in this campaign. History shows that most teams who have gone further in such tournaments had some extra-ordinary backing from their Governments.

Sports is the only activity that brings Ugandans together in patriotic unity, it deserves more attention.

FUFA should also use this opportunity to restore their integrity by accounting for all the money received for the project because that will attract more sponsorship packages.

Let everybody do their bit with utmost prudence. In modern football, games must be won on and off the field. Whatever happens off the field plays an equally important role in the results on the field.
