THE re-union of Kako Secondary School old students scheduled for September 25 is to help raise sh20m needed for restocking the school library.

The Kako Old Students Association acting chairman, Frank Lesile, said by fixing the missing facilities, they would boost the academic performance of the school and help raise the enrolment to at least 1,000 students.

“We are also investigating reasons behind the declining standards of performance at the school. We want to rejuvenate its strength and glory,” he said.

He said Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho, commonly known as, Salim Saleh, who is an old boy of the school, will preside over the re-union day.

The headmaster, Wamala Lule, said: “The school administration wants to put emphasis on science education by equipping the library with modern science textbooks.”

Wamala noted that the school will celebrate the Golden Jubilee in 2013.
Kako Secondary School was founded by the Church of Uganda in 1960.

Some of the prominent old students of the school are Kyadondo MP Isa Kikungwe, Mityana district Woman MP Sylvia Namabidde, the Bishop of Ankole Diocese, Sheldon Mwesigwa and Capt. Frank Musisi of the US army.
