UPC’s values are well known

AFTER nominations, the Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) candidate Dr. Olara Otunu was among those who sang the Buganda anthem.

One wonders whether this is newfound love for Buganda, an entity that Dr. Milton Obote, a founder member of UPC, abhorred with passion.

It is also not clear if the singers of the anthem wanted to capitalise on the gullibility of the emotional voters who would not mind singing hallelujah in reverence to Lucifer!

For the record, the late Dr. Obote used the same gimmicks and got Buganda’s endorsement for premiership in 1962! Of course Otunnu is not Obote incarnate but I believe he stands for the values that Obote and UPC stood for.

UPC is a republican party that can never promote monarchies even when it could cost it votes.
