This is a scandal! Subsequent to the meeting with the President, the state minister for sports was directed to intervene, culminating into a meeting the minister, FUFA officials and those from Boroboro FC.

This is very worrying when Uganda appears to be making significant gains in re-discovering her full soccer potential that has already seen the country's FIFA rankings soar relative to the regional competition. The Uganda Cranes has started meriting international friendly matches. It is well known that FIFA detests political or government interference in soccer affairs.

Interference by the Government can only serve to negatively impact on the overall sports development in the country. In view of the above, therefore, soccer-loving Ugandans must appreciate that football matters are managed by FUFA and should always only be addressed to FUFA.

This is the only way to develop the game. Soccer has nothing to do with politics.
