THE Minister of General Duties in the Prime Minister’s office, Prof. Mondo Kagonyera, has attacked donors for interfering in Uganda’s politics and advocating for a multiparty system.

He said the World Bank and the IMF are developmental partners who should not go against the Ugandans’ wish, saying the people are comfortable with the Movement system of government.

Kagonyera was touring a National Agricultural Advisory Development Services (NAADS) project in Kabale.

He said “America, Europe and other developed countries are strong advocates for democracy and should advocate for it here in Uganda and in Africa.”

“If multiparty system was re-introduced in Uganda, Dr. James Rwanyarare and Paul Ssemogerere cannot sit together on the same table and agree on anything,” he said.

Kagonyera urged Kabale residents not to support self-exiled colonels Kyakabale and Mande.
“I know you cannot support them but is it is important to keep you reminded of the dangers involved,” he said.
