PASSENGERS in a Bukoto-Ntinda taxi were treated to a bit of drama when a fellow passenger carrying Valentine presents to his girlfriend almost fainted on hearing live greetings to her over one of the Luganda FM stations.
“My love Imelda, I will always cherish you for the love you have shown me for all the time we have been together. Today I renew my commitment to love you for eternity,” the message said in part.
What strengthened Kenneth’s fears was that the sender included Ntinda as the place where Imelda resided. What even made things worse that the presenter of the programme on which the messages was aired applauded the sender for such a sweet message.
Kenneth became so uncomfortable that he let the cat out of the bag that the message was sent to his girlfriend, and cursed women, vowing never to trust any woman.
A friend sitting with him consoled him, saying maybe the message was directed to some other person with a similar name, but Kenneth would not believe it, saying this had not been the first time such a thing was happening to him on Valentines Day.
Kenneth alighted the taxi at Mulago stage, deciding not to go and see Imelda after what he had heard over the radio. Ends
