A DELEGATION of Rwanda MPs on a visit here, has asked the Ugandan government to repatriate refugees living in Ugandan camps.

They said it would help to improve relations between the two countries. The team led by youth MP John Rusimbi, has been in Uganda for a week.

They met the Speaker of parliament and attended committee proceedings where they exchanged ideas for modernising the two parliaments.

Rusimbi said at a Friday press conference that many Rwandans suspected of taking part in the 1994 genocide masqueraded as refugees seeking asylum in Uganda.

Thousands of refugees from Rwanda and the DRC are camped in Kyangwali, Oruchinga and Kibaale.

“Rwanda is asking Uganda to repatriate these people so that they can be screened by the Gacaca Jurisdiction,” he said.
