Hallelujah, Tajudeen!

SIR—When I received Tajudeen's article “A real man does not beat, harrass a woman", in a chain letter from a friend in Australia, it prompted me to pronounce my hallelujah to our brother Tajudeen.

Well done Tajudeen, and please keep the torch burning for our emancipation as women across the globe.

Tajudeen’s observations were a penny’s worth because it is surprising in this day and age, that women are still being marginalised and discriminated against by their male partners in all development indices, be it public or domestic.

Our rights only exist in national constitutions and never in the judicial courts when it comes to “woman versus man”. The laws are pro-men and anti-women, in most developing countries. We need more gendered men like Tajudeen to rally behind us for freedom from subordination and violation of our rights as human beings.
