THE Inspector General of Government (IGG) regional office in Hoima has ordered the LC5 vice-chairman, Stanley Kiiza, to produce his academic papers or resign.

This followed a petition to the IGG’s office by four residents alleging that Kiiza had no A’ Level certificate or its equivalent, the minimum academic requirement for any district chairperson or vice-chairperson.

The petitioners are John Mirimo, Yowasi Kiiza, Peter Musinguzi and Doreen Kobusinge, all residents of Hoima town.

In a March 7 letter to the IGG also copied to the district chairman, George Tinkamanyire, and other local leaders, the petitioners said they had evidence to challenge Kiiza’s papers in court.

They said Kiiza, also the Bugambe sub-county councillor, completed O’ Level at Duhaga S.S. and did not continue with studies but joined Idi Amin’s army.

Kiiza, however, said he would only produce his papers if taken to court.

“This is politics at work, They are trying to tarnish my name,” he said, “I am not going to give my documents to anybody, not even to the IGG unless taken to courts of law where I will challenge them,” he said.
