THE Nnabagereka, Sylvia Nagginda, has condemned the involvement of children in wars saying it deprives them of attaining education.

“It has been discovered that many children are fighting in wars. This is very sad. Children should be taken to school instead of fighting in wars. Let us use this chance of Universal Primary Education (UPE) to take our children to school,” she said.

Nagginda said this in a speech read by the Buganda health minister, Nelson Kawalya.

She was launching the Kampala district health week at Mengo Primary School.

She advised parents to immunise their children.

“Parents should take their children for immunisation before they are one year old. In Buganda, we have been reluctant to take children for immunisation which has resulted into death of our children and sometimes getting Polio. Health starts from home before it goes to the country,” she said.

Kampala mayor John Ssebaana Kizito said Kampala City Council is committed to maintaining the cleanliness of the town.
