BETTY Namukasa, the 2002 netballer of the year was a class above most defenders as she blocked many opponents’ attempts to help regional queens National Insurance Corporation- (NIC) to retain the National Netball Rally title in Kyotera, reports Gloria Kyomugisha.
NIC were spurred by Florence Amongin and Annet Nakiwu to beat KCC in the clubs’ final.
KCC went into the game without four top stars. Even team captain Rebecca Nakatte had to watch from the bench due to an injury.
In the post primary schools’, novice champions St Mary’s Kitende collected their second national trophy after defeating national post primary champions Crescent High School 12-11.
Kitende trailed in the game before picking up in the dying minutes to score four goals in a row.
Town View Kyotera team disappointed Kyotera town residents as the team surrendered the primary schools trophy to St Mary Kevin Kajjansi.
