MPS from Rakai district have embarked on a poverty eradication campaign in their constituencies, following what they called heavy demands on them from the people.

Matthias Kasamba (Kakuuto) and Capt. David Matovu (Kooki) said they had decided to equip the farmers with the information that would enable them work for themselves.

They said they could no longer afford giving out money handouts.

“People just come to beg. Why do you make budgets for us,” asked Matovu.

The MPs were on a study tour where they met vanilla farmers.
