Okumu should apologise for his reckless opinion

SIR— Following the report in The New Vision and Bukedde on May 27 quoting Mr Reagan Okumu, the MP for Aswa County, as saying that the appointment of Prof Gilbert Bukenya as vice-president was intended to hoodwink Baganda.

SIR— Following the report in The New Vision and Bukedde on May 27 quoting Mr Reagan Okumu, the MP for Aswa County, as saying that the appointment of Prof Gilbert Bukenya as vice-president was intended to hoodwink Baganda.
I feel that this is bad politics by Reagan Okumu. I think the people of Aswa have problems Okumu has to forward to Parliament for debate and possible solutions. Why rush and tackle Buganda matters? Doesn’t Buganda region have its representatives who are able to react to such issues? Why Reagan Okumu in particular?
On that note, Okumu needs to apologise to the public.
Prof Bukenya has played a big role towards the restoration of peace, unity, democracy and modernisation in this country. Why not appreciate his appointment to a higher office?
