UGANDA Motor Club (UMC) has landed new sponsors for the fifth round of the National Rally Championship (NRC) series due July 18-20.
Alfa Dairies and Gelp, a petroleum company last week confirmed sponsorship, for the rally formerly funded by dfcu Bank.
The rally has been renamed “UMC July Rally”.
“It is a great relief. It would have been very difficult to organise a rally without a sponsor. We hope to get another co-sponsor on board,” UMC president Fred Mugerwa told The New Vision yesterday.
The sponsors will unveil their packages at the launch of the rally later this week. Upcoming driver Riyaz Kurji is the proprietor of Alfa Dairies.
The rally will start with a super special stage at Kaazi circuit on July 19 before the second leg in Mukono the next day.
Local drivers will use the event as a build up for the TOTAL Pearl of Africa Uganda rally due September 5-7. The event counts towards the African championship.
