THE Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje, has declined to comment on the third term issue as demanded by some Muslims.

Mubajje said although other religious leaders come out and show the side they are on, he is not ready to do the same because each of the people he leads has his or her own view.

“If other religious leaders have come out to comment on an issue, it doesn’t mean that I also have to comment on it because we all have different understandings and ways of perceiving ideas,” he said.

Mubajje was on Sunday officiating at a thanksgiving ceremony in Bukulula village, Mateete sub-county in Sembabule district, organised by Hajji Ausi Katongole.

He said, “Let everybody take up his view on the issue and I also remain with mine, since this is not a religious duty I am entitled to fulfil.”

He said Muslims in Uganda have many problems that must be settled other than disturbing the Government.
