Egyptians sign tenancy agreement

African Development Incorporation, an Egyptian firm, has signed a tenancy agreement with the agriculture ministry for leasing the Masese Engineering and Carpentry workshop.

David Ebong, the permanant secretary, signed on behalf of the Government, Dr. Maggie Kigozi on behalf of Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) and African Development Incorporation chairman and managing director, Moustafa El-Gendy signed on behalf of his company.

The function took place on Thursday at the agriculture ministry boardroom in Entebbe.

According to the agreement the Egyptians took over the premises beginning yesterday and will occupy them for the next 25 years. They are to pay $2,000 per month payable yearly and in advance.

The tenant is to use the premises for construction of marine commercial vehicles with capacity of 100 to 500 tonnes and self-propelled barges with loading capacities of 100 to 1000 tons.

He will also construct oil and water tanks both with tyres and with non-propelled and self-loading capacities from 100 to 500 tonnes, oil tankers with loading capacities of up to 3000 tonnes, dry and general cargo vessels of up to 1500 tonnes and fishing boats.
