MBALE — The UPDF killed four Karimojong warriors on Wednesday night in a futile cattle raid in Amaseniko parish, Katakwi district. The commanding officer of the UPDF 3rd division, Col. Andrew Guti, said the UPDF victor battalion also recovered one gun. “Other warriors fled back to Karamoja without any cattle,” Guti said. He said the security in the region was calm after drastic measures were taken to deal with robbers.

DPC closes shrine
MASAKA — Security officers have closed a traditional healer’s place for illegally gathering people at night. In a letter to Lwengo sub-county LC3 chairman, David Kizza, the district internal security officer, Lt. Fulugencius Musaazi, said Muwawu Kasozi’s activities in Kafuuzi village, posed a security threat. He said his activities raised fears among the local leaders.

KPC to build children home
KAMPALA — The Kampala Pentecostal Church (KPC) is to build a children’s village at Nsangi, Wakiso district. Pastor Garry Skinner said the village will have a primary school, a health centre and a high school. Skinner was addressing the congregation that attended the Watoto Choir concert at KPC-West at the Regency Hotel on Sunday. He appealed to people of goodwill to contribute funds towards the project.
