DAY three of the East Africa Schools championship saw home teams falter as they struggled to advance to the last eight.
Bweranyangi girls were humiliated 8-0 by Bishop Njenga of Kenya in soccer as Kibuli SS managed a goalless draw against Mombasa at Nakivubo.
In volleyball, Shimba Hills of Kenya beat Layibi College 3-1 and St. Lawrence were crashed 3-0 by Paul Boit SS.
Basketball was not any different in Kabojja. Manjasi HS succumbed to a 71-51 beating from defending champions Maseno (Kenya).
Nabumali followed suit in the girls category falling 67-54 to Tigoi girls.
Kitante girls were also defeated 71-53 by title holders Kamukunji.
Unlike the other disciplines, netball was positive with Gombe continuing the title defense with a 43-30 victory over Ndivisi.
Kitende girls provided backup with a win over Kenya’s Kamukunji as Bishop Njenga defeated Berkeley in an all Kenya schools affair.
Action continues today.
