THE rivalling Kapchorwa politicians, Dr. Steven Chebrot and Lt. Leonard Chemonges, have taken their wrangles to Reserve Force Commander Lt. Gen. Salim Saleh.

“Saleh told them the wrangles were likely to impede developmental projects in the area. He told them to resolve the differences once and for all,” sources said.

They said Saleh held a seven-hour meeting with the politicians at his Mbuya residence last week.

Chebrot, a former cabinet minister and now MP for Tingey county, accuses Chemonges of the President’s Office and Capt. Juma Seiko, Saleh’s personal assistant, of attempting to kill him.

The two parties last week separately met Internal Security Organisation chief Col. Elly Kayanja over the issue.

“There was nothing tangible out of the talks. One of them later tried to disrupt the meeting and it ended abruptly,” the source said.

The meeting was attended by Kapchorwa Parliamentary caucus chairman Dr. Yeko Arapkissa, Woman MP Gertrude Kulany and Seiko.
