TRAGEDY once again! The family of five that went to sleep in peace woke up terrified minus their only three children.

Screams and cries of anguish rent the dark night of death at Namagunga on the Kampala-Jinja highway as rescuers struggled to free the children trapped under the wreckage of the Kampala bound semi-trailer.

The 1:00am incident on Thursday occurred when the driver of a trailer truck lost control and rammed into the home of John Kaweesi, levelling it to the ground.

Police identified the dead children, all from the same family, as John Sekatawa, 6, a pupil of St. Peters Namagunga, Kevin Namata and Eric Kiwanuka.

Mukono district police chief James Wakholi said the driver could have been speeding.
Their parents, John Kawesa and Fiona Arate, survived. The children who were sleeping on the opposite end of the bedroom stood no chance as the truck crashed them to pulp.

The driver of the trailer, Fahid Muhammad and turnboys Richard Mawewu and Gideon Mayuba survived with injuries.
