POLICE chief Maj. Gen. Katumba Wamala yesterday directed all civilians in possession of firearms to register them with their respective district authorities.

POLICE chief Maj. Gen. Katumba Wamala yesterday directed all civilians in possession of firearms to register them with their respective district authorities.
Katumba reminded civilian with firearms that their licenses expire today.
“There is a fresh registration of civilian firearms holders at district levels. All the firearms holders should make sure that they are registered,†Katumba said.
He said it was imperative that firearm licenses be renewed immediately.
He said district Police commanders will issue the new licences.
Those seeking to renew their licences will submit the arms for inspection.They are also expected to produce letters of authorisation from his office.
