Kaihura hails Langi MPs over rebels

THE Chief Political Commissar of the Uganda People’s Defence Force, Brigadier Kale Kaihura, has commended MPs from Lango region for rising up against the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels.

“I am very happy to see MPs from this region clad in military fatigue. Being an exemplary leader, you ought to show the people you represent your commitment in bringing peace,” Kaihura said.

Kaihura said this recently while meeting top UPDF officers at Acholi pii army barrack in Pader district.

He said the LRA rebels led by Joseph Kony could be degraded substantially if local politicians join hands with the government to whip out the insurgency.

Lira municipality MP Cecilia Ogwal said they had mobilise the people of Lango against the LRA.
