A HEALTH centre in Massoli village in Gayaza, valued at sh582m, is near completion. The venture was the brain child of US-based Faith Mulira.

“When my clients (in US) asked me what they can do for me upon my retirement, I presented to them a project proposal of a Faith Health Centre on my two acres of land here in Massoli,” Mulira said.

“I dread the fact that mothers and babies are still dying because of poor diet, malaria and lack of efficient health services.”

The three-room structure, that will be at the level of health centre III, was still being furnished with medical tools and literature.

Mulira told residents that they would “pay an affordable fee to enable the institution run continuously, increase its capacity and improve the services in future.”

During a tour by some of the project funders from USA, the chairman board of directors, Senteza Kajubi, urged the locals to guard the facility jealously.

Mulira also said she would put up a care home for the elderly people.
