FORMER national champion Ronald Ssebuguzi has got a new navigator for this weekend’s BUGMUNS/ Lake View Rally.

FORMER national champion Ronald Ssebuguzi has got a new navigator for this weekend’s BUGMUNS/ Lake View Rally.
Ssebuguzi was forced to look elsewhere after his co-driver Cedric Buzabo opted out of the event due to work commitments.
Ssebuguzi, who will be flagged off third, will now be navigated by Justin Mungoma in a Mitsubishi Evo 4.
“I am sure we will get used to each other after a few sections,†Ssebuguzi said on phone while route reccing in Bushenyi in the company of his new navigator.
“Mungoma is very experienced navigator who has trained many successful co-drivers in Uganda. We will be calm and hopefully complete the race.â€
Mugoma downplayed the challenge of matching Ssebuguzi’s pace.
“It’s just a matter of being observant and reading notes. He is the one who will be in action I can even read faster if he wants,†Mungoma said.
Anyway, I believe we shall flow after a few sections together.â€
Ssebuguzi will be third on road in the 340-km rally that will traverse Mbarara and Bushenyi district for two days.
National champion Ahmed Ashraf will be first on the road followed by 2007 champion Ponsiano Lwakataka.
The rally will begin with a ceremonial start at FINA Bank Mbrarara branch tomorrow and cars will head to Bushenyi for the first leg covering six sections.
The second leg in Mbarara on Sunday will cover three sections.
Horizon Coaches, Lake View Hotel, Tower Auto Parts, FINA Bank, Trust Condoms, Fire and Safety Appliances and Mityana-based St. Charles Medical Centre, Auto-craft Syndicate, Pelican Hotel and Coca Cola Mbarara have jointly sponsored the rally
