Landlords told to pay taxes
JINJA - Property owners in the district have been urged to pay taxes on time to enable quick delivery of services. The call was made by David Irumba, an inspector in the local government ministry, during a workshop at the Jinja town hall on Thursday. “We encourage property owners to pay their rates and those mandated to collect taxes to sensitise them on the benefits which accrue from the taxes.” Irumba said they would sensitise the public on taxation. “Funding is still a big problem. We have targeted districts with big properties where increased revenue can be mobilised,” he said.
