THE Police and residents of Ntooke village in Kayunga district on Tuesday retrieved a decomposing body of a man suspected to have been murdered and dumped in River Ssezibwa, writes Charles Jjuuko.

The body, dressed in a white shirt, black trousers and shoes did not have any identification. It had deep cuts on the neck and the chest.

Residents said the man was a stranger, adding that the body had stayed in the river for three days.

The acting criminal investigations chief, Mohammed Kateregga, said the body was discovered in the morning by a fisherman.

“We suspect that the man was robbed and killed from another place and dumped in the river. We therefore call upon people who have a relative missing to contact us,” Kateregga said, adding that investigations were ongoing.

The body was buried at the Kayunga Town Council Cemetery in Ntenjeru.
